Fitbit said that its Planet Fitness and Fitbit Flex Fit have seen strong demand from consumers for fitness products.
Planet Fitness is owned by Fitbit, while Fitbit Fitness has been acquired by Google, the company announced.
In an earnings call on Tuesday, Fitbit CEO Marc Benioff said the company plans to increase its investments in the fitness industry in the coming years.
“We have invested heavily in fitness to grow our business, to become a bigger player in the market, and we are seeing great results,” Beniof said.
Fitbit has also announced plans to open two new fitness gyms.
The company has plans to add new gyms to the gym network in the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle, and plans to expand its fitness offerings to more cities across the country.
The Fitbit Watch has also seen strong interest in the United States.
“In recent months, we’ve seen a strong uptick in our fitness business and we’re thrilled that Planet Fitness, the world’s largest fitness store chain, is one of the largest in the world,” said Benioft.
The new Planet Fitness will open in the first quarter of 2018 in the Los Angeles area.
The store is located at 611 N. La Brea Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
The fitness retailer has opened two fitness gymbands in the past year: one in the heart of the city, and one in Seattle.
“Planet Fitness is the perfect fit for the new Fitbit,” said Jason Kone, an analyst at research firm eMarketer.
“It offers great fitness, great fitness tracking, and great pricing.
Plus, it has a very strong brand that people want to get their fitness fix on.”
Beniofs statement on Planet Fitness follows the news that Fitbit’s other fitness brand, Planet Fitness Elite, is shutting down.
According to the Fitbit website, Planet is the only Fitbit to offer fitness tracking in more than 50 countries and more than 10,000 stores.
The site says the company will shut down the fitness tracking service in March 2019, and it will no longer offer membership services.
Fitbuds will continue to offer membership and membership options for Fitbit Fitbits.
In a statement on Monday, Fitbud CEO Michael Johnson said Fitbit would continue to provide its Fitbit trackers for Planet Fitness.
The announcement comes on the heels of Fitbit announcing it would be closing the fitness trackers it launched in 2014.
The website, which featured a list of Fitbuddy features and a link to a free 30-day trial, was shuttered in January.
